The Northern Alberta Spartan Sprint was a late addition to the Western Canada Spartan Race season calendar with registration opening 2 and a half months before the event. This made for rather favourable conditions on the course as the 45% registration sell-out on Saturday and 35% on Sunday made for reduced lineups at obstacles.
